The Orchard

The orchard is certified organic and consists of 266 peach trees, 58 apricots, 52 pears, 48 cherries, 22 apples and 2 plum trees, 2 grape vines, a large patch of raspberries and a few blackberries. The soil type is sandy loam and can easily be dug to a depth of 6' without much effort. The fruit trees do not need to be irrigated, due to the high water table, with the exception of newly planted young trees. The total area that the orchard covers is approximately 9 acres.

The Potential

The property is also available to be subdivided into one acre lots for building homes. Below is a map of the orchard taken from a satellite image showing the ground area.

The soil is a sandy loam, about 70% sand, and 30% organic matter. You can dig about six feet without hitting a rock in most places, then you hit gravel and below that at about 10 to 12 feet is the water table.

The property is fully fenced. The utilities are natural gas, electricity, and wood heat. In the summer house we use propane for cooking and water heating.
